Dr. Viviana Garcia
Dr. Viviana Garcia grew up in Mission, Texas and was raised in a large Mexican family (La Dra. Garcia HABLA ESPAÑOL). She began dancing when she was 3 years of age and continued throughout high school as team captain for the Sharyland Diamond Dance Team. During her competitive years, she was introduced to chiropractic through an unfortunate dance Injury. Manual muscle release techniques and chiropractic care allowed her to recover and compete that season.
After high school she attended college at The University of The Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio Texas where she received her bachelors in sports medicine. During her sports medicine career she traveled as a student trainer with UIW’s football team, was the head student trainer for women’s basketball team and did a year internship at Alamo Heights High School. There she also assisted with all sports injury prevention, management, rehabilitation and recoveries. During summer breaks, Dr. Garcia worked at a physical therapy clinic to expand her knowledge in sport injuries and prevention. As college came to end she decided to go straight into Parker University where she attained her doctorate in chiropractic. At Parker she attended nutrition seminars, was selected to be on the sports medicine team at the Susan G. Komen race for the cure, became certified in a soft tissue technique (FDM) and in Webster technique to assist pregnant women as well. After graduating she worked as a sports chiropractor where she attended athletes of all levels and received her dry needling certification through Kinetacore.
Dr. Garcia enjoys sports, maintains active by participating in crossfit and loves her peloton bike. Community and family are her favorite things about life and she continually seeks opportunities to advance her education to better serve her community. (3) Facebook

ABOUT HENDRICK WELLNESS
Hendrick Wellness Center is owned by spouses Blaine Hendrick, DC, FNP-C and Jana Hendrick, DC. Both Jana and Blaine studied in upstate New York which afforded them diverse practice opportunities in Chiropractic. Both doctors have experience practicing Chiropractic in Rochester, New York, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital and the Monroe Community Hospital, which housed satellite clinics of the New York Chiropractic College Health Center. They also have specialized Chiropractic training to treat children and pregnant women through various courses and programs. Dr. Blaine also studied whiplash injuries and treatment in Chicago, Illinois. Furthermore, Dr. Blaine and Dr. Jana worked with athletes of many levels, including high school, collegiate, and professional. The couple moved to McAllen, Blaine’s hometown, and opened Hendrick Wellness Center in 2006. They continued their treatment of athletes as the Official Chiropractors of the Edinburg Roadrunners (formerly the Coyotes) professional baseball team from 2006 to 2013. (16) Facebook

Dr. Daniel Kohl
Born and raised in Cedarville, Ohio, I became very interested in medicine while on several medical-mission trips to Philadelphia, India, Nepal, and Paraguay. Witnessing the physical and spiritual needs in the U.S. and around the world sparked a passion to serve others through medicine. I decided to pursue a pre-medical education at Cedarville University, including minors in Bible and Spanish, graduating in 2016 with a B.S. in molecular and cellular biology. It was at this time my closest childhood friend became my wife and our family began! We joyfully welcomed our first son into our home 2 years later.
Our journey then led us to Columbus, Ohio, where I studied at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, pursuing a holistic approach to primary care. I was excited to develop skills in osteopathic manipulative treatment (manual techniques that alleviate pain, restrictions, and swelling). While studying, I was also able to serve as president of the campus Christian Medical and Dental Association. In 2020, I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
The next step for our family was moving to the Rio Grande Valley and starting residency at Valley Baptist Family Practice in Harlingen. My physician mentors showed excellent care for physical and spiritual needs, always respecting the choices of patients. I will forever be grateful for their example! Being fluent in Spanish, I enjoyed connecting with Spanish-speaking patients as well! I also became an enthusiastic member of the Institute for Functional Medicine after completing its foundational training course. Our firstborn became a big brother as we welcomed our second son into our growing family.
During residency, I encountered limitations of health insurance with rushed 10 minute appointments, most of which is spent typing on the computer! There is little opportunity for developing a doctor-patient relationship, finding root-causes of problems, and taking steps toward a healthier lifestyle. I began observing at direct primary care clinics and was thrilled to see a way for doctors to focus on their patients! I was excited to see how the patient and doctor can reach health goals together, while also building trusted relationships. By the end of residency, I was thoroughly convinced that direct primary care was the way to go!
We decided my wife’s hometown of Edinburg would remain our permanent home! We love the people, the flavors, and the sunshine that make the Valley a great place to live. As a family, you can usually find us hiking, playing soccer, hosting family game nights, trying new foods at farmer’s markets, and homeschooling our two active sons. We also enjoy worshiping and ministering together with our local church.
I am thankful for the opportunity to open Kohl Direct Family Care on the campus of Rio Grande Bible Ministries, a welcoming community dedicated to sharing the good news! As a family doctor, I treat patients of all ages, and have a particular interest in nutrition, supplements, sports medicine, and functional medicine. Dr. Antonio Martinez is a board-certified primary care physician with years of experience in the field. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio and completed residency at the Valley Baptist Family Practice Residency Program in Harlingen, TX. Dr. Martinez is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to the Rio Grande Valley community. Dr. Martinez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
