My husband and I had the unique privilege of being assisted into the world by the same midwife. When it came time to start our own family we were naturally drawn to the midwifery model of care. I'm now the proud mother of 2 waterbabies. Helping women find what is best for them when it comes to birth has been my calling ever since. I am currently completing my Birth Doula (CBD) and Childbirth Educator (CBE) certifications through Birth Arts International.
Jessica is IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) & Birth Doula
Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and lactation is my passion in life. My interest began when I was pregnant with my oldest son almost 18 years ago. While I was pregnant I read everything about pregnancy and lactation that I could find. After my oldest son was born I found a love of helping new mothers with breastfeeding. I have been a La Leche League Leader for 10+ years, IBCLC for 7 years, and birth doula for 3 years. I would love to support your family through your pregnancy and breastfeeding journey.
I firmly believe that we are built to birth. Occasionally, mothers do need additional help to achieve this, but our bodies are all designed to be both gentle enough to nurture and grow a baby and yet also powerful enough to birth our child and still have the strength to care for the baby after birth. My passion is helping mothers realize just how amazing their bodies are, helping them to trust their bodies, and helping them to use their bodies to achieve the births they want - the births they deserve. After the birth of my two girls I fell in love with birth stories. Welcoming new life into this world has been so rewarding! When pregnant with my first child, a friend approached me about different options during the birthing process. She suggested I take Bradley Method classes and become well informed of the process of labor and delivery. Before this, it was something I never gave much thought to. I assumed the doctor would just treat me routinely and people labored pretty much the same. But because of the Bradley Method classes I understood that pregnancy required much preparation like special nutrition and exercise. I realized I would need a well prepared birth coach and supporter through the entire process. My main goal as Bradley instructor is to help the partner be the best coach they can be and eliminate a lot of the "what do I do now's?" And as a doula, I aim to guide and reassure the couple during the laboring process with comfort measures, information and helping to execute the birth plan that is perfect for them.I believe the birth process God created is valuable and we should respect it by being well informed of the process. I would love to help prepare you for the best birth possible.

I was born in Galveston Texas, the youngest of 6 children. We moved to Edinburg Texas when I was 8 years old. At an early age I saw myself becoming a Veterinarian. As I grew up, I later wanted to practice Family Medicine. As life would have it , I would do neither. I took a course as a nursing assistant at a technical institute right after high school. I then enrolled into college with a major in Pre-Med. I married at 21, became a mother at the age of 22 to our son and then later at age 28 to our daughter. Life has a way of working out though. God knew what he had instilled in my heart, and I quickly was drawn to helping families for many years. I became a green Birth Educator through the International Maternity Institute in 2011 and opened my business, Blissful Baby, to support families during pregnancy. I later became a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. In 2014 I completed my Certification at CAPPA for Childbirth Educators which led me to becoming a DOULA. I have thoroughly enjoyed serving families and will continue to be here to support them , as long as the lord permits.

Making Your Journey To Parenthood Blissful
I moved from California to McAllen in 2007. After the amazing water-birth of my son in 2010 I felt compelled to share what I had learned from my own childbirth classes and birth experience. I earned a certification as a childbirth educator and have been teaching classes since 2011. I currently am a Birth Boot Camp Instructor. In 2012 I began attending births as a doula. I received my birth doula certification through Childbirth International in 2013, and soon after formed my company Compassionate Birth Services, LLC.
My birth philosophy is simple, I believe that a woman's birth experience will be the most memorable event of their life and I want that experience to be positive. My role as a doula and educator is to guide my clients through the birthing world by using my years of experience and labor support. This enables them to be a part of the decision making with their care provider, allowing them to walk away from their birth feeling empowered throughout the entire process.
I’d love to talk with you about how I can help you have an amazing birth here in the RGV. I offer several different Birth Boot Camp childbirth/newborn care classes, birth doula services, and placenta encapsulation. Contact me for a free consultation!
There is no greater love than the one that makes love or that a mother has for their child. Thirty – two
years ago, on her due date my 8 lb., 6 oz. baby girl was born. When my daughter was 9 I was divorced.
This was the second life changing experience. I had a religious background and observed all holidays yet
I didn’t realize I wasn’t spiritual. I was introduced to Reiki which began my spiritual journey and other
forms of energy healing. In 1996 I became a reiki master, providing energy healing services. After
practicing reiki for 10 years, I became interested in using my healing services through the power of
massage. In 2009, I became a licensed massage therapist where I was introduced to a doula. This
introduction led to me taking a Doula and Childbirth Educator class. I am currently licensed in both in
Texas, as well, as in Florida. Through massage, I provide both prenatal and postnatal care, helping to
alleviate common muscular pain associated with pregnancy. Additionally, I am certified as a Fit-for- Birth
instructor, as well as, Kundalini Yoga instructor. Through both my Fit-for- Birth and Yoga certifications, I
have taught numerous pregnant clients, various gentle exercises, breathing techniques and stretches to
help relax their bodies and mind. I have assisted with multiple births, helping the mother to feel as
comfortable as possible during the labor process. It would be my honor to be able to assist you in this
wonderful life experience.
